Alex, it’s not wire. My favorite for beadweaving is Fireline. It only comes in 2 colors, Crystal (for light-colored beads) or Smoke for medium to dark-colored beads. You can often find Fireline in the fishing dept. at WalMart or in Dick’s. Many bead shops carry it, too.
I love this pattern! The pictures don’t do this necklace justice! I did mine in white intend of turquoise and lilac instead of the red. And I did the first section of lower beads in the white and the second section I did in the lilac, and it’s stunning!
